About My Beauty Speaks

About Our Organization

My beauty journey started years ago in my adolescent years. I was blessed to grow up with two beautiful grandmothers. They were naturally beautiful on the outside – clear skin, healthy hair, homemakers and professional women and always well put together. They both wore makeup but neither of them needed it. They were not only beautiful on the outside, they were beautiful on the inside. Their lives were full of excellence. People loved them. They had smiles and personalities that would light up a room. They cared about people. They valued family and spending time together. They loved… and I loved them. One of my grandmothers would often say “pretty is as pretty does” … they are the inspiration of My Beauty Speaks!

My attraction to color and beauty was ignited after years of watching my mom apply her eyeshadow or having the opportunity to assist her as she was an independent beauty consultant and then becoming a consultant for a reputable beauty brand myself. As a mother, I realized my two girls were going to become a reflection of me and I knew there was more work to be done on the inside of me.

So I started the process of becoming the BEAUTIFUL ME. It is an ongoing journey of self-awareness, willingness to hear tough but needed feedback from people who know you, who love you, and who want to see you better, and a process that requires hard work. But I wouldn’t turn back because the person I am today was worth every moment of hard work. My hard work birthed My Beauty Speaks.
